5 Ayurvedic Herbs for Better Sleep and Anxiety

There are days when your brain refuses to sleep even when your body is tired, your mind starts replaying the conversations or you end up scrolling endlessly. This is all because of the modern lifestyle, where our brain is constantly stimulated and stays alert even at night. Sleep problems nowadays are rarely about laziness, they are often about the nervous system struggling to slow down.

Sleep & Body Repair

Sleep is not just about rest but mostly about recovery of the body. It helps our body clear mental fatigue, help body cells repair and regenerate and help our nervous system and brain recover from daily stress, which also balances hormones. .

Sleep must not become irregular as this leads to increased blood pressure, weakened immunity,  and emotional exhaustion.

Biological maintenance comes from quality sleep. Stress and Sleep are linked as stress increases the cortisol levels in the body, if this becomes chronic it hinders melatonin which results in a racing mind at 3 AM despite complete physical fatigue.

According to Ayurveda,  ayurvedic wisdom, disturbed sleep occurs when the nervous system becomes overstimulated so this is when herbs and natural remedies are used to calm mental activity and support emotional stability.

Now, let’s explore a few natural ways to calm the mind and help the body prepare for the restful sleep
