Good mental health is the ability to reduce stress, identify strengths, make the right decisions, and work well to achieve life goals. It also plays a role in building good relationships and contributing to society.

Just like physical health, mental health is an essential aspect of overall well-being. It affects your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and your ability to handle different situations.

In today's life, both environmental and societal factors are responsible for increasing stress and anxiety. These factors can disturb our mental health and affect our emotions, thoughts, and decision-making ability. These factors can be social isolation, negative life events, work-related pressure, unhealthy lifestyle, smoking and alcoholism, physical, health, or mental problems, and family or social pressure.

These problems have become even bigger in today's digital world. Excessive use of social media, decreasing physical activity due to increased screen time, and over-dependence on technology caused distractions, which have become very common. The brain is also unable to focus in one place and people's sleep is even disturbed due to dependency on digital devices. This is also a major reason for increasing anxiety and stress.

Express Feelings & Emotions

We all experience different emotions, every time in any new situation or condition. Healthy coping strategies can manage your emotions and stress. These can include deep breathing exercises (i.e. Yoga), engaging in physical activities (i.e. walking for at least 30 minutes or running for 10-15 minutes daily), journaling or writing down thoughts, practicing mindfulness or relaxation techniques, or engaging in hobbies you enjoy or try something new.

Self-care

It's important to take care of your own well-being. For example, getting enough sleep, exercising, and engaging in activities you enjoy. Self-care activities can positively impact your mental health. Sitting alone for 30 minutes without any distractions also helps in improving mental health.

Eat Nutritious Food

A nutritious and balanced diet is very important for our body. It strengthens our immune system and gives us extra energy to cope with stressful events. Make sure to take fruits and vegetables rich in minerals, vitamins, and omega-3 fatty acids in your daily diet. Also, stop consuming junk and processed food. This will have a positive effect on overall body as well as your mental health. Build Supportive Relationships

It's important to have supportive relationships. Friends and family can help you get through tough times. Seek help from trusted if you or someone you know is struggling with their mental health. 

It's okay to ask for help when you need it. It's importance to talking to a trusted, such as a parent, teacher, or school counsellor, if you are feeling overwhelmed or experiencing persistent feelings of sadness or worry. Seeking help is a sign of strength.

You also start to listen to another person with logic and empathy. Be a good listener, empathetic, and supportive of others. This will give you a sense of satisfaction and a pleasant feeling. 

Stigma and Stereotypes

It's important to treat everyone with kindness and respect, regardless of their mental health. Mental health conditions are common and can affect anyone. Be empathetic and don't judge or attach stigma towards those who may be struggling.
